Key Qualifications and Requirements

* Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Geology from a reputable university.
* Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in open-pit mining operations. Prior background in contractor management within open-pit coal mining is a distinct advantage.
* Technical Expertise:
* Proficiency in mine planning, production analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and operational reporting.
* Solid understanding of contract administration, tender management, reconciliation, and coal hauling management.
* Strong computer literacy, including advanced skills in MS Office and specialized mining software (preferably MINEX) for pit/dump design and scheduling.
* Digital & Innovation Skills: Experience with digitalization, business intelligence tools (such as Power BI), data analytics, automation tools, or AI applications tailored for mining operations and contractor performance management is highly valued.

As a Mining Engineer at KPC, your day-to-day responsibilities will be diverse, challenging, and essential to maintaining seamless operations from pit to port. Your primary duties will include:
* Operational Planning and Monitoring: Evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly pit operation plans—including mining and dump sequences, stripping ratios (SR), and coal quality parameters—while conducting regular site inspections for land clearing, topsoil management, and haulage operations.
* Contractor Management: Review and analyze contractor operating methods, equipment requirements, and short-term schedules. Monitor contractor equipment utilization, productivity, and cost-effectiveness to ensure strict compliance with contractual agreements and company standards.
* Coal Chain Coordination: Oversee the movement and quality of coal from pit to port, managing Run of Mine (ROM) inventories, blending plans, hauling activities, and crushing processes while liaising closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
* Performance Analysis & Optimization: Conduct rigorous operational analysis to deliver technical recommendations focused on productivity enhancement, cost reduction, and continuous business improvement.
